Got a call 1/25/19 from Texas Auto Center where I bought my car 1/23/19. It was Carlos the guy who sold me the car saying I needed to come in to resign paperwork bc there was a mistake in the original paperwork. I asked what was wrong and he said he'd go over it with me when I came in. He asked when I thought I'd be coming. He sounded urgent. I said I wasn't sure bc I was at work. He said OK. I was suspicious bc it seemed he didn't want to let me know what was wrong but wanted me back in ASAP. I knew that could only mean money. After running it by a coworker he said if he doesn't tell you just dont go. I decided to give them another chance so I called and said I couldnt make it after work so to tell me what's wrong so if its urgent i can plan accordingly. Carlos said he had to get with finance and would call me back in a few minutes. I never got a call back. So I went there in case something was an emergency. Before going in i made sure to have a witness on the phone. Carlos sat down with me and said the mistake was to the interest rate. I got 14.09% and he said it was supposed to be 16.9something(basically 17%). I said that doesn't benefit me so im not signing. He said he had to talk to his manager. A few minutes later he comes back with a woman who explains they're must have been a glitch in their system. All their vehicles have to be financed at a certain percentage. She said they would give me a full tank of gas for the mistake. I asked what would be the outcome if I refused to sign bc I wasn't going to resign a contract that didn't benefit me. She said they would give me a refund and take the car back. I told them that was fine. I'd take the refund and contact an attorney with my original contract. They went back to the manager. After a few minutes Carlos came back and said the manager said everything was fine. I could keep the car at the outlined 14% interest rate. The company then tried adding the interest without my knowledge so I had to contact an attorney. They have also made claims that they had not received payments but because I keep receipts I was able to prove I had paid and in fact paid early. Most recently I began having issues with the vehicle after only having it a few months. September I took it in and was told I'd need what amounted to to tune-up that would cost $694.73, which upon pickup the vehicle immediately after the repair I noticed a high pitched whine coming from the driver side whenver I would accelerate. About a month later I began having the same issues with the vehicle. I took it AutoZone and had them get the OBD code for me and it came back P0420 for a catalytic converter. Turns out this is covered under the warranty through the dealer as I have not had the vehicle 24 months or driven 24K miles. In fact I have not even put 4K on the vehicle since February. I would only have to pay $200. I asked for the original diagnostic and still have not received it. Instead I was given an invoice. I have also asked if it was the same symptoms why hadn't we done the catalytic converter in the first place. I did not get a direct answer. I was told the catalytic converter wears out over time and use, so I questioned that this more than likely was within the vehicle before I bought it? Again, I did not get a direct answer. I believe they sold me this vehicle with these issues and are looking for ways to continually charge me for things because I would not resign paperwork at the higher interest rate as they requested.

Yes I would but I'm am very angry at the moment

I have a 2014 Chevy Camaro and my transmission locked up on me or the highway this morning and I had to pull over on the side of the highway I cannot go any further I tried to put my car in first gear is not going second gear it's not working I can't even put it in reverse the transmission is totally blown just got this car at the end of December a day after Christmas and I don't even know what's going on I need tow service ASAP I'm on the side of the freeway in a dangerous but my phone number is 512-796-****

Car was turned off while I was at work. The payment was made and the next one wasn't due for a week. Tried to leave work at 8 at night. My husband had to come get me which was a 30 min drive. This has also happened between 5 and 10 times. Usually during the day so could get it turned back on. Happened before at night and called the after hours number. They do not have that anymore. Called the next day and they admitted it got turned off on their part for no reason. Said it got turned back on at 7 in the morning. Had no concern for what happened and said if we don't like it get a car somewhere else. Have to get someone to take me back to work to get my car. So it has been really inconvenient and a horrible situation.

Keeps running hot

Took my vehicle in for repairs. A few days later I went to pick up my car and it was still doing the same thing. I couldn't go to work and they wouldn't even give me a loaner car. So today it did the same thing again and still no loaner vehicle. I have no transportation to and from work. Plus I'm being charged for the the repairs.

I will never again buy a car from Texas Auto Center. Granted it wasn’t them who pissed me off but the people they have working for their service dept. I have been without my car since Friday, it went to the shop on Monday for a misfire, new tires and an alignment. They tell me yesterday my car will be done by the end of the day and I will have my car delivered to me first thing in the morning today after 9AM. I still don’t have my car so I call and they tell me they can’t get a hold of the alignment shop but once they do and get the car back is when they will work on the misfire. Then they said they never told me that they would deliver my car to me and they never said it would be done at the time I said. Basically calling me a liar and saying “no one ever told you that!” Where would I get this info from??? Just make it up?? They then say “you don’t have another car you can use?” If I had another car I wouldn’t be this pissed right now. The people working there are RUDE and incompetent! The best you get out of them is “I might be” “I think so” never will you get a solid answer!

I had a 09 impala ss for 6 months in the 6 months i had it i had to put it in the shop 3 times the last time i put it in they didnt want to cover it under the warranty and said i would have to pay 584 to get it fixes wich was a bunch of bull *** cause it was still under their *** up warranty not only that they tried to add their insurance to my car note many times and i have my own insurance and they knew this everyone that i know that has gotten a car from them have had nothing but problems as well my brother has put his car in the shop twice for the same thing and the problem he is having still hasnt been fixed over all this dealer ship sucks *** the people are rude and they have smart *** mouths

Taking advantage of hard working women

I purchased a Hummer 3 in September 2017. I had it two weeks and the transmission went out. They took 2700 and put me into a 2009 infinity. I drove it three weeks before the transmission started slipping. It wouldn't shift. The check engine light came on and I took it into the service department to have it looked at. Clint cleared the codes out and said it was fine. Five times they cleared the codes and sent me on my way stated they couldn't reinact the issue. I was leaving work in South Austin and got on to the highway after a truck and the car would not shift my son and I were almost killed. I was so scared I took the car back to them in tears completely shaken they said we will figure it out. We are sending it to Austin infinity to run a diagnosis. Three days later nothing I called to check always being told there are others ahead of you. They gave my car back stating no issues Austin infinity found nothing. Well I called Rachel the assistant service manager at Austin infinity to find out my car was never even takin to the shop. I was lied to bold face lied too. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and looking for an attorney as we speak. The BBB asked if I was interested in taking to the media and I said absolutely. We have rights and I work very hard for my money and I pay 573$ a month for a car that is very unsafe. Please do not buy from this company they do not care about you or your safety. Nor will they help you resolve any issues. I want all my money back 4800$.

Texas Auto Center is scam and a liar. Texas Auto Center is a set up to ruin your credit. Texas Auto Center is the worst place in Austin to purchase a used vehicle. I wpuld advise to never sign a contract with Texas Auto Center

Very poor customers service (cs): the north location has a cs rep from ***! He is a large over weight man that never smiles and is intimidating to me as a woman, he has not on the 2 occasions that I have dealt with him known anything that happens in the repair department. He took possession of my car keys on a tow, he lied and said that he didn't have them and when pressed by the tow truck driver that gave him the keys, he produced the keys. This same person said that a few parts that were missing off of my vehicle; which wasn't repaired properly, wasn't in the (rd) when I asked to speak to the technician that worked on the vehicle; which he refused to allow me to do so; some of the missing parts suddenly appeared but not all of them. very poor vehicle repair and billing practices: The repairs were to be 600.00 total I received a nondescript invoice for a totally different amount without a breakdown of parts and services, only after I requested a description of the parts and services l did receive an invoice with more billing errors. I agreed to the repair services at Texas Auto because you allow poor people to pay off the repair charges in increments that won't put a lot of strain for all that you charge for the bad repair services that they have performed on my vehicle. Your company allows poor folks to drive a fairly decent car without the hassle of great credit and a lot down, but if this is going to be your practices of (cs) and (rd) I will be your worst critic and nightmare!!!
